Having handled several 1856-C, I can confirm that this date is one of the worst struck with planchet flaws between star 1 and 2 on the obverse, and rough surfaces. As such very few have survived and in mint state likely 5 or 6 unique examples are known. The current example is one of the best and most original piece out there. Certainly the only cac example in mint state out of 5 cac in all grades!
