This stunning 1904-S Liberty Head Double Eagle, PCGS MS65+ CAC, displays exceptional eye appeal and preservation. The coin glows with rich, thick luster in a classic yellow-gold hue. Both sides are exceptionally well struck and nearly pristine, exhibiting only the faintest contact typical of mint handling. This piece represents the upper echelon of preservation for the issue—none certified finer by CAC—with no CAC sales recorded in higher grade and a non-CAC MS66 bringing $26,400 03/24 ST which we assert looks comparable, whilst another on the market which we also assert this looks significantly nicer than. The last MS65+ PCGS CAC sold for $10,409 05/21 GC with no sale since then.
