Twenty Cent
As a result of reduced demand for twenty cent piece due to it bringing confusion for being similar to the quarter in terms of size and value, the U.S. Mint abolished the production of twenty cent pieces in 1876, but issued proof pieces for collectors up until 1878. Boasting a smooth and frosty surface with no serious hits or marks worth the notice, this example is one that displays superb eye appeal. The strike is razor sharp with all details clearly visible. Lustrous and reflective toning embrace the surface of the coin offsetting borderline colors of an array of teal, olive green, and emerald green. Other tones of sapphire blue, amber yellow, and metal copper are in full display also. Last PCGS CAC auction record was for $4,112 05/16 LE over 8 years ago which was no where as attractive as this.
