1863 $20 F15 NGC CAC

One of the rarest Type One Philadelphia mint $20. 1863 $20 is a superbly rare coin not only as an important key civil war issue but also because approximately only 427 are known in all grades out of a low 142,790 mintage. As such this coin is rare in all grades. Most 1863 $20 show deep abrasions while this example has a circ cam finish for a gold coin. The surface has even original wear over superb eye appealing uncleaned surface. This is the single lowest graded example under both pcgs and ngc. Very few coins are CAC and the next CAC sale is a xf45 for $8,400 in 2020.
