Offered is a rare three dollar gold piece from an original mintage of 20,891. In ms62 these have recently sold between $2,900-$3,400 with just a few years prior trading at close to $4,000. Currently the price guide of $4,500 represents a retail level to which this example deserves. The ms-62 indicates a lower grade than deserved and on comparison to most other 63 is on par. The color is soft with butter yellow whilst the surface untainted, but does reflects some light hits accounting for the grade. There are two other ms62 on the market with their respective asking price of $4,000 and $4,500.
