The U.S. Three Dollar Gold Coin, minted from 1854 to 1889, is a rare and unique piece of American numismatics. Designed by James Barton Longacre, these coins feature an iconic Indian princess portrait on the obverse and a distinct agricultural wreath on the reverse. Initially introduced to facilitate the purchase of postage stamps, the coin saw limited circulation and was discontinued after just 35 years of production.
