1853/2 $20 VF25 PCGS CAC

The only overdate in the entire Liberty Head Double Eagle series, 1853/2 $20 is one of the earliest issues of the series as well as one of the most under-rated. There are an estimated 200-300 known in all grades from an original mintage of 1,261,326, a tiny number. For a series such as a Liberty Double Eagles this is one of the lowest numbers of survivors.

The offered example is tied for the second lowest graded example, as a PCGS POP 2 and a CAC POP 1 with none lower. No relevant comps are noted within the past 11 years. The eye appeal on this coin is phenomenal. With deep red between devices this coin is how you would like a VF $20 to look.
