1841 $1 AU55 NGC

This 1841 Liberty Seated Dollar, Type 3 No Motto, graded AU55 by NGC, is an exemplary Choice AU survivor of this early Philadelphia issue, with a low estimated population of just 2,300 pieces in all grades. Struck during the formative years of the Liberty Seated series, this example exhibits richly toned warm champagne-gold across the central fields, accented by satiny frost on Liberty’s gown and portrait, with vibrant rings of sapphire, indigo, and aquamarine circling the periphery—especially pronounced from 9 to 12 o’clock. PCGS guide assigns a $3,250 figure—highlighting its strength in the market. The last PCGS AU55 sold for $1,920 10/24 HA and we think this with color seems like a better buy.
