In the Indian Head Cent series, the 1877 date is characterized by an exceptionally low mintage for both proof and business strikes. Only 900 proof coins were struck this year, with merely 16 receiving a CAC sticker at a higher grade. The proof strike for this specific year is notably less prevalent compared to the business strike, and is one of the lowest proof mintages in the entire series. Collectors of Indian Head Cents consistently seek this year, and it remains in high demand.
