1836 $5 AU58 CACG

An HM-6 ( R.3) constituting of only about 25% of all 1836 $5. 1836 Classic Head can be obtained in lower grade, but in AU and finer this coin becomes tough to find especially with CAC approval. Rarer than the 1834 $5 Classic issue, this current specimen is a choice AU58 piece displaying wonderful luster gracing the smooth and silky surfaces of the coin. Though many specimens are known to be softly struck, this piece boasts immaculate details with little to no hits or marks to be found anywhere. The last CAC examples have consistently sold for $4,560 08/22 ST and 04/22 ST, but since then less rare dates have sold for much more, as Classic Head $5 have gone up significantly in value recently - $5,760 08/24 ST. This wonderful eye appealing lustrous example is sure to be a popular addition to a well-curated type set.
