The 1833 Capped Bust Half Dollar, O-104, Rarity-1, graded AU-58 by PCGS. With an estimated 8,000 survivors, this piece stands out for its remarkable eye appeal and preservation, displaying bright silver centers framed by a rich iridescent halo that ranges from cobalt-blue and violet to russet-gold and hints of jewel-like magenta. The coin presents a satiny antique silver-gray base tone beneath these peripheral colors, transitioning gently inward and highlighting Liberty’s portrait with soft, velvety texture and subtle mint frost lingering in protected recesses. Overall exceptional toning and eye appeal.
Provenance: From the Vincent W. Alones Collection.
