Another 1831 50c au53 gold cac sold for $3,600 at Heritage several years ago. In my opinion this is similar in terms of wow factor, but that sure was unbelievable too. A true monster toner, and should this have been at auction would likely break records. In terms of wear while ive seen more wear on some ms62 and less on some au58 as is the case with bust half because of weak strike and wear mix up, there is an abundance of luster through out the coin which echos that of an ms’ The colors are on point with dark pink centers to cobalt blue near the stars then enclosed by a stark yellow around the peripheries.
