1947-S 25C MS68 PCGS CAC
1947-S 25C MS68 PCGS CAC
Washington Quarter
PCGS Plate Coin. Tied For Finest. PCGS 8/0. CAC 4/0. Because of its low mintage, the third lowest of the 1941 to 1964 Washington quarters, 1947-S 25C is an eagerly sought after date. This coin is a Conditional Rarity and can be acquired inexpensively up until MS66. But at MS68, only 1 CAC has ever sold which was a decade ago on 01/13 HA for $9,400. That example truly pales in comparison to this, firstly because that piece has two spots, but more importantly this present example has lovely rainbow hues decked on both the obverse and reverse. Even a non-CAC MS68 PCGS example with some toning sold for $6,500 02/22 DL. We can see this CAC example perhaps being listed by other dealers for $10,000. From Christmas green, orange to pink and a variety of other shades, this coin has all the colors required. An incredibly original example that was most likely stored in a flip or envelope and toned thereafter. This example is destined for the finest of sets and would bring about spirited bidding if at auction.
