1943 50C MS67 PCGS CAC

Since its issuance, the Walking Liberty Half Dollar design has remained a favorite among numismatists, with many considering it one of the most beautiful motifs ever used on a circulating coin. This 1943 Walking Liberty Half Dollar is as close to perfection you can get while still maintaining affordability. This PCGS encased example is graded as Mint State (MS) 67 with CAC approval. One small grade jump higher puts these coins in the $20,000 plus range. This distinctive color is seldom observed on Walking Liberty Half Dollars. The obverse showcases a radiant center reminiscent of the day it left the mint. Surrounding this brilliance, a spectrum of colors emerges, transitioning from auburn to vibrant royal purple and infrequently seen chartreuse green. The lower obverse exhibits more subdued lime greens, while the outer right edge displays lively yellows. The reverse is adorned in a blanket of color, ranging from vivid greens on the right edge, progressing through chestnut and russet browns, and culminating in light red and cinnamon tones. Most importantly the coin very beautifully showcases the rising sun in bright neon pink, a lovely touch for this desirable coin. Very few examples have come up to auction but when they do, these sell for very strong. The only CAC toned MS67 example we found was a 1946-D 50C MS67 PCGS CAC for $4,818 05/22 LE and a NGC MS67* CAC for $6,591 04/21 GC, whilst a non-CAC 1947 50C MS67 for $8,400 08/21 HA, which comparatively ours is substantially nicer than all three and perhaps would bring a new record at auction.
