1943 1C STEEL MS68 NGC CAC

One year only, popular 1943 Lincoln penny was a very critical year for the U.S. and the U.S. Mint. America was in the middle of World War II, and because of copper shortages to fight the war, all 1943 Lincoln cent coins were composed of mostly steel content with a 5% mixture of zinc. A popular issue that caused a unique look with vibrant luster. None are finer than the base MS68. 3 MS68+ are known with one selling for $33,600. Half a grade lower CAC examples have sold recently for $3,408, $6,000 & $4,080. The present example is flawless with no detractions, booming luster and perfect eye appeal.
