1942 25C PR68 PCGS CAC
1942 25C PR68 PCGS CAC
Washington Quarter
One of the lowest mintage in the entire Proof Washington Quarter series, 1942 25c from 21,123 pieces struck can be located with ease through Premium Gem, any finer than PR67+ becomes a Conditional Rarity. This example a PR68 PCGS CAC is tied with 18 other and only 3 technically finer ( NON-CAC PR69 sold for $16,800 01/20 HA) though none finer at CAC. The last CAC example sold 3 years ago for $7,500 for an attractive example; however, it was most certainly less attractive and less toned than this deeply toned concoction of hues. Both the obverse and reverse peripheries depict wild rainbow liquid transitions akin to those seen on some high end Morgan toned. Fully struck and void of any mark or hits as one would expect from a PR68. Beyond all the eye appeal, this example outshines any previously sold CAC example. Sharply struck devices and impeccable preservation rounds out the outstanding eye appeal.
