The 1938-D Buffalo Nickel can be acquired with ease up until MS67, any finer and it is a condition census. As the last year of issue for the Buffalo nickel series, this 1938-D 5C graded MS68 offers excellent sharpness and frosty luster. The added toning of salmon-pink centers to white-gold peripheries makes it even more desirable contributing to its incredible eye appeal and color. It is tied at second finest with a few finer at MS68+. With the last NGC MS68 comp for an un-toned example selling for $3,840 06/23 ST, we believe this represents great value, and can see this bringing more at auction.
