1918-S 25C AU53 FH OGH PCGS CAC

Tied for the second lowest graded 1918-S 25C Full Head and the lowest graded CAC example, 1918-S 25C is a scare date. Especially in Full Head designation this San Francisco Standing Liberty Quarter is very tough. In fact, as per David Hall " In this ultimate condition, the 1918-S is one of the rarest coins in the Standing Liberty quarter series." Unfortunately or rather fortunately for the collector, this date is overshadowed by its rare over-date variety which costs 10X more, 1918/7-S 25C. The present example features perfect strike for a circulated example with hair feather, eagle, shield and breast all well defined. Mixed with an OGH holder, we wouldn't be surprised to see this in a higher grade holder today. No auction comps exist.
