1915-S $5 XF45 PCGS CAC

The 1915-S $5 Indian Head Half Eagle is a better date within the series. With a low mintage of just 164,000 and an estimated 2,600 survivors exist today. In comparison to 1909-D $5 with 141,666 survivors exist in all grades! Safe to say this date is undervalued in our opinion. With lustrous honey surfaces and some shades of dark red-amber within the recess, the eye appeal for this circulated gold Indian is superb. This example is one of only two approved by CAC, with 99 examples finer. PCGS lists the price guide value at $900 and no CAC 45 has sold recently since gold's run, but a non-CAC just sold for $780 08/24 HA.
