Key date for the Lincoln Series, and known to all collectors as one of the most popular and important dates in numismatics. Whilst readily available in lower grades, this coin is the single finest CAC certified example in Brown. While there are 4 or 5 examples certified in the top pop MS66 Brown with none finer, this is one of only 2 CAC approved pieces with no comps noted - CAC 2/0 with the other example tightly held in a top Lincoln Penny registry. MS66 RB PCGS CAC examples have sold $30,000 over 5 years ago, whilst a more recent MS65+ RB PCGS CAC sold for $18,800. The offered example has attractive purple to light brown overtones with near flawless surface. Well struck and clearly one of the finest examples for the issue regardless of designation.
