1914 10C MS67 PCGS CAC EX BLAY
1914 10C MS67 PCGS CAC EX BLAY
Barber Dime
Tied For Finest at CAC. The 1914 Barber Dime offered here is a visually spectacular, conditionally rare Superb Gem, certified among the finest known and a standout for both advanced type collectors and specialists in toned coinage. The obverse is drenched in intense album-style toning, with a radiant, kaleidoscopic spectrum of bright-crimson, lime-green, cobalt blue, violet, fuchsia, and golden-orange swirling across a base of champagne-silver frost. Liberty's portrait glows with silken brilliance beneath this vibrant overlay, and the cartwheel luster rotates uninterrupted, accentuating the sharply struck laurel leaves, LIBERTY band, and hair detail. The reverse is more softly toned, exhibiting a refined blend of pearl-silver, olive-gold, plum, and powder blue, with hints of sea-green and amber tucked into the recesses of the wreath. The frost is thick and undisturbed on both sides, and the surfaces remain virtually pristine. With only seven coins graded MS67 and just one finer at PCGS but none fine at CAC, this piece sits firmly in the Condition Census as Tied For Second Finest, but visually outshines even the 1 finer.
