Severely under-valued, 1910 1C MPL( Matte Proof Lincoln) has been overshadowed by the ultra rare 1909-VDB 1C PR, which despite a similar mintage has commanded great fanfare and big auction records. Lower graded 1910 1C PR65RB PCGS CAC has sold for over $1,000+. The present example a PR66RB PCGS CAC pedigreed to the Young-Dakota auction, is a superb example toned rainbow patina Lincoln penny. Never seen in such colors, the coin is unique with a concoction of "azure, violet, and green blends with gold and brown over the original red color. The matte surfaces are satiny with a bold mint glow. The sandblast texture shows off wonderful facets that sparkle in the light. The devices are sharply impressed on both sides..." In 2015 and prior CAC 66RB examples were selling for $3,000-$4,000 but a few subpar examples shifted the values, as such these now represent excellent value to purchase. Truly a magnificent coin and one of the most attractive MPL we've seen. PCGS Price Guide - $1,850 & CAC Value - $1,720. PR66BN sold for $1,645, in today's market we believe this will set a new record.
