Indian Eagle
The San Francisco Mint began striking the Indian Head eagle in 1908 only after the July reinstatement of the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. As such 1908-S $10 Indian Head is a historically significant date for the series especially in Mint State and is known for its consistently sharp strike. True Gem examples are major rarities with the last MS65 PCGS CAC selling for $45,600 12/25 SB and the last MS64+ PCGS CAC to sell for $21,600 04/24 SB. This CAC-approved MS64+ example is positioned at the upper tier of certified survivors, nearly reaching Gem status and representing one of the few premium-quality pieces in this grade range. PCGS records show a population of just 7 coins at this level with while CAC reports only 13 pieces approved finer. This coin displays warm, even golden surfaces with a abundant satiny luster that flows smoothly across both sides. Even at MS64 (non plus) CAC values this at $20,000.
