Tied For Finest at CAC. Unattributed Repunched Date. The 1908-D Barber Dime, certified PCGS MS67 and CAC-approved, represents one of the finest known survivors from the Denver Mint and sits firmly within the Condition Census for the issue. While the 1908-D is relatively common in lower grades, true Gems are significantly more elusive, with just seven coins graded MS67 by PCGS and only one finer at MS67+. Of those, six have earned CAC approval - likely inflated- with none graded finer at CAC, solidifying this coin’s elite status among advanced collectors. The obverse displays a lightly mottled silver-pearl patina, complemented by champagne-brass, amber, and parchment-gold accents, with delicate violet and olive-green undertones adding depth around the high points. A bold, satiny luster rolls effortlessly beneath the color. The reverse anchored by a frosted silver core and encircled by shades of golden-canvas, light tobacco, peach, and jade-green, all framing a sharply rendered wreath. With razor-sharp strike detail, untouched surfaces, and soft, vintage toning, this ex Blay coin and CAC-endorsed Superb Gem offers Registry-caliber quality and aesthetic appeal rarely matched in Denver Mint Barber coinage.
