Attractively toned. 1906 Indian Head Cent – MS64 BN (PCGS, CAC) Original Mintage of 96,020,530 coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1906, making it one of the most heavily produced issues of the Indian Head Cent series. Despite the large mintage, only 6,000 examples are estimated to survive in Mint State condition, equating to an incredibly small survival rate of just 0.006%. Among CAC-approved coins, there are just 10 certified in this grade (MS64 BN) with only 5 finer, reflecting the scarcity of high-quality, original examples with CAC endorsement. There has been no CAC-endorsed MS64 sale recorded in the public marketplace since 2010. The last PCGS MS65 BN + sold for $1,200 in March 2023 (Stack’s Bowers) The coin displays a rich chocolate-brown and bronze tone, complemented by subtle blue, purple, and magenta highlights around Liberty’s profile. Warm reddish undertones add depth and enhance the visual appeal. With no recent sales of CAC-approved MS64 BN examples and only a small number finer, this coin represents an exceptional opportunity for collectors seeking both rarity and aesthetic beauty. Its scarcity and superior quality make it a cornerstone addition to any high-grade Indian Head Cent set.
