This 1904 Barber Dime, graded PCGS MS66+, is a Superb Gem Condition Census example, tied for second finest known at PCGS with none finer at CAC. While the date boasts a mintage of over 14.6 million, survivors in this level of preservation are remarkably scarce and rarely exhibit the combination of technical excellence, sharp strike, and vibrant album toning seen here. The obverse glows with a buttery champagne-gold center, softly overlaid with hues of olive-gold and violet-gray, framed by a radiant halo of sunset-orange, rose-peach, and pale steel-blue. The reverse transitions from wheat-gold center outward to apricot, lemon, crimson-gold, and a vivid rim palette of aqua-teal, cobalt, and plum-violet. The fields are smooth and untouched, exhibiting a softly glowing satin luster. This piece ranks among the finest visually compelling and technically elite Philadelphia Mint Barber dimes available and would elevate any Registry Set or advanced type collection.
