This current 1899-S Quarter Dollar specimen can be said to be the most exquisite Gem of all the dates out of the Barber Quarter series. This date has the second lowest population as reported by PCGS with survival estimates to be around 2,000 out of 708,000 mintage leading to a survival percentage of just 0.28%. The 1899-S 25C has a lower population count than the famous 1901-S!

It boasts brazen luster along its surfaces that is immaculately well-preserved on both the obverse and reverse of the coin. The surface also exhibits never-ending swirls of luster. The toning of this specimen displays colors akin to lavender gray, blue-lilac, goldenrod-yellow, and amber-yellow on both the obverse and reverse.

It has been a decade since anything finer than the current piece has sold, with the last sale this exact piece 5 years ago for $9,694 09/19 LE. With lower graded MS66 PCGS CAC selling for as much as $6,600 01/20 LE this MS67 PCGS CAC POP of 3 and none finer represents excellent value.
