The 1893 Liberty Head Ten Dollar Gold Eagle is a classic late-19th century issue, and this MS64 example graded by PCGS and approved by CAC offers strong quality and attractive originality for the grade. The obverse presents Liberty’s portrait with crisp definition through the curls of hair, coronet, and surrounding stars, all set against luminous fields displaying warm orange-gold coloration with soft honey undertones. Smooth satiny luster flows evenly across both sides, complementing the natural golden surfaces and giving the coin pleasing eye appeal. The coin if anything has incredible luster. With a mintage of just over a million but 40,000 approximate survivors in all grades, this is immensly tougher than dates like 1901-S $10 with millions in population, yet still trade at approximately similar values. CAC approval confirms the strong quality for the assigned grade, with a CAC population of 63 coins in MS64 and just 6 graded finer, while the CAC Price Guide lists a value of $3,500.
