1889 1C PR65 BN PCGS EEPS

A marvelous dual sided painting, this proof Indian Head 1889 penny is glorious. Despite a minuscule mintage, Indian Head proof pennies are seldom seen with such colors; however original examples can be acquired with patience in all grades under $1,500. This piece though shows the obverse with crimson peripheral edge over mustard and blue centers, whilst the reverse sky blue over some pink and yellow. As attractive as the example is, there is no detracting spots or mark on this coin. The only relevant comp is the 1873 1C PR65 BN PCGS CAC that sold for $2,040 in 2021.
