This 1888 Liberty Seated Dime, certified MS66+ by PCGS and awarded a coveted Gold CAC sticker, stands as an elite representative of late-date Seated Liberty coinage—the only example to earn Gold CAC approval. While the 1888 issue boasts a substantial mintage exceeding 5.4 million pieces, Mint State survivors are plentiful only through MS64; at the Superb Gem level, they become markedly elusive, and at the Gold CAC level, this coin is singular. For comparison, the next grade up—an MS67 with standard CAC approval—realized $6,600 08/22 HA and $9,988 06/14 HA. This coins obverse is drenched in vibrant, natural album toning, anchored by a luminous blend of sunlight gold, ice blue, and turquoise in the central fields. These core tones transition outward into a radiant tapestry of rose-magenta, flame-orange, and lavender, most intense near the left periphery and above Liberty’s portrait. The coin also offers an equally spectacular display, dominated by sapphire-blue, amber, and seafoam green, punctuated by a dramatic tangerine burst. Both sides exhibit exceptional surface preservation, with silky smooth, satiny texture, unbroken luster, and a total absence of haze or handling marks—hallmarks of untouched originality. Under magnification, the coin reveals virtually no distractions, positioning it in our opinion as clearly the finest as no example has been graded finer than MS67. We can see a CAC MS67+ bringing $15,000 which this coin clearly has claims to. A true trophy coin—unrepeatable in quality, color, and certified status. As a
