1887 25C PR66 PCGS CAC
1887 25C PR66 PCGS CAC
This exceptional 1887 Liberty Seated quarter is a Superb Gem Proof struck from a tiny original mintage of just 710 pieces, with an estimated 600 examples believed to survive today, and it stands among the most visually impressive late-date Proof issues of the series. Iridescent toning blankets both sides, anchored by warm orange and rose hues across the fields and devices, transitioning into cooler steel-blue on the obverse and violet shades on the reverse. CAC approved 6 at this grade with only 1 finer. Most relevant auction comps for this grade have sold for $2,160 to $2,640 in 2024 and 2023 - neither of which had remotely as attractive toning as this. Considering this is a superb GEM, CAC, toned and with a tiny mintage, safe to say your getting strong back for buck.
