Despite the business strike, the 1884 Seated Dime production proved to be surplus at more than 3.3 million pieces produced. However, it is known that only 875 proofs were minted for the proof issue, which is considerably low in contrast to some of its predecessors. Though it has a low proof mintage, this one should certainly catch the eye with its CAC endorsement. It has a CAC POP of 12 and none finer, posing it tied for finest at CAC. With a CAC Price Guide today of $2,620, and no relevant beautiful toner for this date selling, except when it previously sold for $2,702 12/17 LE.

This beautifully toned sublime Gem is a great example for the type. On the obverse it boasts a magnificent gold patina interlaced with sunset pink hues including olive and jade green in the center. The reverse exhibits iridescent toning with beautiful emerald and sea green color hues. This wonderful proof Seated Dime not only possesses brilliant eye appeal, but it also displays lustrous smooth surfaces with inch to perfect details of razor sharp strike as one would hope.
