1881 50C MS64 OGH PCGS CAC
1881 50C MS64 OGH PCGS CAC
Liberty Seated Half Dollar
The 1881 Liberty Seated Half Dollar is a remarkable numismatic rarity, with a minuscule mintage of just 10,000 pieces, reflecting the Mint’s shift in focus after the Bland-Allison Act of 1878 prioritized Morgan dollar production over smaller silver denominations. This exceptional example, certified in an OGH and bearing CAC approval, boasts superior quality and eye appeal, with a CAC population of only four and just 14 finer examples recorded. With smooth, lustrous surface, the pristine preservation of Liberty’s sharply struck seated figure, with intricate details alluding to a higher grade than the assigned MS64. No CAC MS64 has sold recently; however, in MS64+ PCGS has a Price Guide of $3,750 whilst in 2014 a NGC MS64+ CAC sold for $3,055 02/14 ST. Considering how in XF this date is 4 figures, we find this infinitely more worthy than an XF example.
