1878-S $2.5 MS65 PCGS CAC

Paradime Coins is pleased to offer clearly one of if not the Finest 1878-S $2.5. A very important offering, 1878 San Francisco Quarter Eagles are thoroughly undervalued and becomes a Condition Census at MS64. Tough to find in choice condition, as students of the series will know, this date almost always come with poor eye appeal and subdued luster. The offered example, however, blows away any other example seen with its blinding luster and its superb fields. Beginning of the year we sold a MS64+ PCGS CAC when we noted that "...Finding an example finer (than MS64+) especially CAC is impossible and will cost likely $30,000." When we were offered this piece, we knew the importance of it, and no doubt jumped at the opportunity, as should the buyer. The present example is far and away the finer of the 2 examples at this GEM grade. No CAC comp or auction records exist and if sold at auction will certainly bring a new record price. An exceptionally important offering that will end up in the top set.
