Bright Honey Gold decks this lovely 1878-S Eagle. Fully struck with very few hits compared to how these are usually seen, the San Francisco Eagle shines with eye appealing satin-luster. From a low mintage of 26,100, approximately 375 are estimated today. A monster condition rarity that has been under appreciated because of the low grade typically seen, the coin becomes incredibly rare above AU55 with maybe 3 known in UNC. At AU58, this CAC Pop 4 with only 1 finer. The only CAC sale in the past 12 years was a Fairmont AU58 PCGS CAC that sold for $9,000 08/18 ST, whilst a PCGS MS60 NON-CAC sold for $20,400 04/22 ST. Our offered example is as choice if not more pleasing than the $9,000 Fairmont example and will satisfy even the most picky of collectors.
