1876 20C PR62 CACG

Mintage of 1,260 the 1876 twenty cent proofs were cut down to half from the previous year due to reduced demand which was brought about by confusion with the quarter since it was similar in size and value. This seated liberty twenty cent specimen is decorated with some fantastic toning. The colors on the obverse display a peripheral ring of gold with a mixture of teal, cerulean blue, and forest green gracing surface along with some hints of copper brown here and there. The reverse on the other hand exhibit hues of blue fire, amber, and an array of teal and cerulean blue. The strike is sharp boasting a virtually flawless surface with no noticeable abrasions on either side of the coin. With CAC placing a $2,810 price guide and no relevant comps we believe these are how toned twenty cent proofs should be collected.
