1875-S $5 VF25 PCGS CAC
1875-S $5 VF25 PCGS CAC
Liberty Head Half Eagle
CAC POP 1 out of 7 in all grades. From a mintage of 9,000 1875-S Half Eagles, 85 are known today in all grades and condition! This example is sharp struck, despite not being a priority for the grade, the eye appeal and color is extraordinary. Orange-gold hues over gold patina encompasses this coin. With mark-free surface and even wear, this is a great coin to add to any collection. There has been no PCGS sale neither has there been a CAC sale from either companies. PCGS cites a Price Guide of $2,250 at VF25. NON-CAC PCGS VF30 sold for $2,220 10/21 HA, whilst a CAC AU55 example sold for $14,400 compared to NON-CAC AU-55 selling for $5,000+, clearly establishing the importance of choice unprocessed CAC examples for rare gold. The next CAC certified is a single au50 cac which would cost significantly more, if it is ever available.
