The 1875-S Liberty Seated Twenty Cent Piece, graded PCGS MS66+ and approved by CAC, is a spectacular survivor from the inaugural year of this short-lived denomination and this is one of the most visually stunning examples known. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, where most 1875 coins entered circulation and saw heavy use, this piece offers preservation and beauty far above the norm. Both sides radiate with satiny luster, layered under a mesmerizing spectrum of color. The coin displays an extraordinary blend of electric blue, teal, and violet across the fields, with peach, rose, and golden-yellow accents - no doubt a kaleidoscopic toning. Silky smooth surfaces free from notable marks, combined with extraordinary color and eye appeal, elevate this coin to a league of its own. With PCGS reporting only 13 coins at this grade and 10  finer, and one CAC-approved examples graded higher, this coin occupies a rarefied position in the condition census. Auction records underscore its desirability, with the last MS66+ example selling for $14,400 in 01/24 HA which was a non-CAC near blast white example. This Superb Gem is a trophy-level acquisition certain to command strong attention from type collectors and specialists alike.
