1875-CC 10C MM ABOVE MS66 OGH PCGS CAC PITTMAN
Liberty Seated Dime
All Carson City issue coinage receive huge fanfare. 1875-CC Seated Dime is no exception and deservedly so. Liberty Seated Dime mintmark placements rarely strayed from the norm between 1838-1860. Only 3 dates were different in their position: the 1860-S Dime, 1875-S, and 1875-CC are exceptions appearing Above Bow or Below Bow. As such these three dates need to be collected specifically and appreciated independently. The present example is an under-valued and under-graded OGH certified with the exceptional Pittman pedigree. No CAC comps are noted except a MS66+ PCGS CAC with a major hit to the face that was somehow graded 66+ and thus sold cheaply for $7,200. Interestingly, Bender's MS65 PCGS CAC sold for exactly the same price at $7,200 08/22 HA. This example far exceeds the MS66+ PCGS CAC and Bender's 1 grade lower MS65 PCGS CAC and is comparable to the almost MS67+ example that sold for $26,400 11/20 ST from a technical perspective. No hits or marks are noted, this coin has all one needs from a Dime. Carson City mint mark, OGH, Pittman Pedigree, CAC, and exceptionally high quality for the grade. Such a coin with this level of preservation seldom remains in this state.
