1873 2C CLOSED PR66 BN PCGS CAC

The demand for this proof-only date is considerable, as high-quality examples seldom emerge for sale. We take pride in presenting this 1873 Two Cent (Closed 3) PR66 BN as one of our recent favorite coins. This coin stands as a conditional rarity, surpassed by only one other example that Paradime also sold. Notably, this exhibits superior eye appeal, with honey-gold and ruby-red colors that gleam when the coin is in hand, followed by deep blues that envelop both sides. Such exceptional coloration is rarely seen on a Brown example, and the strike is impressively hammered! It's worth mentioning that no CAC example has been sold in the past two years. The most recent one, which lacked the color seen here, fetched $4,250 in September 2021 at DL, whilst a non-CAC toned example sold for $4,080 12/22 HA. We are pleased to offer an original toned CAC example that we highly recommend.
