1871-S $10 XF45 PCGS CAC

1871-S Liberty Head Eagle bearing the mark of the San Francisco Mint is a tough date within the series. Showcasing some luster that is visible between the devices over tan yellow gold patina and moderate wear, this coin has what a circulated eagle should look like. While total mintage of 16,500 only 80 of them are known to survive in all grades today, a tiny number. A CAC pop 2, with only 9 finer, the next CAC sold for $7,800 06/24 ST, while the other CAC sold for $3,600 08/24 ST. We like this example better. A unique opportunity to own a S-Mint eagle with under 100 survivors.
