Liberty Seated Dollar
The 1871 Liberty Seated Dollar with a PCGS pop of 138 in this grade and 492 finer at CAC, only 2 are approved in this grade! Many of these coins were likely exported to China or held in Treasury vaults until their release in the late 19th and mid-20th centuries. This specific coin features a warm, pearly luster and was likely stored in an envelope as it has the typical envelope toning look. The borders show beautiful gold and russet brown toning, complementing the glowing silver surfaces. No auction records exist for an AU50 example with CAC though CAC Seated Dollar have been sky-rocketting in prices. Last year a 1872 $1 AU53 NGC CAC sold for $1,920 12/23 HA.
