1870 2C PR67 BN PCGS CAC

Tied For Finest PCGS 3/0 & Finest CAC 1/0. 1870 2C saw a mintage of 1,000 of which only 5 have been graded PR67 between BN, RB, RD and RD CAM. 3 in BN and 2 in Red. Of the 5 only this example is CAC with none finer! Simply put this is the finest 1870 Proof 2C by all measurements. Interestingly, this coin as we clearly see there are some original Red still intact and at the very least this coin should have been labelled RB in our opinion. Perhaps one day it shall, but for now it is still the finest 1870 2C Proof. No auction record exists for a CAC coin, PCGS quotes a Price Guide of $7,250.
