1869/'8' 3CS MS67* NGC STAR
1869/'8' 3CS MS67* NGC STAR
Three Cent Silver
Pop 1/0 NGC. Pop 2/2 PCGS. Pop 1/0 NGC Star. From a mintage of 4,500 pieces, only 300 are known today in all grades. A Key Date, among the 300 known this 1869 3CS is one of the absolute finest examples. The one and only and finest NGC Star graded example, Paradime Coins is thrilled to offer this piece. With a PCGS Price Guide of $30,000 and NGC Price Guide of $35,000, this single finest example at NGC is a marvelous example to behold. With the only relevant comps a PCGS blast white example that sold 5 years ago at $28,200 and 3 NGC comps non-Star designation at $15,275 01/22 HA(fugly example), $15,862 08/13 HA and $41,125 01/13 HA ( an attractively toned example). Note the only other 67 that was toned with colors sold at $41,125. We clearly see a two-tier market for attractively toned and non-toned. Case in point 2 grades lower, a MS65 PCGS CAC sold for $8,400 01/22 HA. In truth, this present example is nicer than any of the MS67 example including the $28,200 example that sold 5 years ago and the NGC MS67 $41,125 example. This 1869 3CS MS67* NGC Star has perfect concentric bands of rainbow patterns seen on both sides. No marks or hits are noted what so ever, and the luster is un-ending and loud. What a coin. We are confident this will bring a record price at auction.
