1867-S $5 F15 PCGS CAC

One of the rarest San Francisco Half Eagles, 1867-S $5 has an estimated 75 known in all grades. The closest and only relevant comp is an NGC VF25 CAC that sold 02/22 HA for $2,880, which in comparison was heavily abraded as is the case with a majority of the other 74 known to exist. This F15 example is void of any mark, is evenly worn and represents what one would hope to buy from a rare date circulated San Francisco Half Eagle. Superb eye appeal and we would prefer this coin to that any day. CAC Pop 1 with very few known in total.
