1863 3CS PR64 NGC

Incredibly minuscule mintage of just 460 pieces were struck for this Civil War era 1863 Three Cent Silver example. Despite the low mintage of this proof example, it has surprisingly remained affordable in most grades. In recent years, beautifully toned Three Cent Silver examples have garnered strong bidding from collectors at auction, and thus we've started seeing a wider gap between toned and un-toned prices. Consider the latest PCGS PR64 CAC 07/22 HA which sold for a strong $2,640. The present example shows sun-yellow to bright teal hues with no detracting spots and is clearly worthy of a strong bid.
