1862-S $10 AU53 PCGS CAC

A magnanimous rarity of underrated proportions. The 1862-S Eagle like other Civil War era eagles especially from San Francisco are hugely popular and thoroughly rare. Only 65 are known to exist today in all grades and conditions, most of which are abraded, cleaned and extremely low in grade. With no PCGS AU53 comps much less a CAC comp, this CAC POP 1 out of 8 CAC approved coins in ALL grades including 2 resubmissions that we know of, is a gem au. Much luster still remains within the devices as seen emanating from the peripheries. The coin is void ticks and deep marks as commonly seen and as confirmed by CAC's low approval numbers. The only comps are: 1) Bigmo's AU55 PCGS CAC $31,725 07/20 and 2 ) Fairmont's AU58 PCGS CAC for $48,000 04/2022

In terms of eye appeal this is on par with BigMo's AU55 PCGS CAC and the AU58 PCGS CAC. We see that this appears to be that coins little sister and almost identical in color and look. This is a very rare coins that is destined for a top Liberty Eagle collection.
