1861-S $2.5 F15 PCGS CAC

Undervalued Important Civil War Quarter Eagle. 1861 San Francisco $2.5 from a mintage of 24,000 only 85 are estimated today in totality. Almost exclusively because of the tumultuous times, most are not seen choice. The present example was plucked straight out of circulation and is reminiscent of a VF coin. A few hits likely holds the coin back. One CAC comp exist at VG10, 2 grades lower, where a PCGS example sold 7 years ago for $1,880 01/15 HA. We've also sold another lower grade VG10 CAC beginning of the year for $2,000. This CAC Pop 1 has no CAC comp at F15, and is severely undervalued.
