There are four known original confederate half dollars from 1861-O. These are worth roughly $1 Million. From these four, the same obverse dies were used to struck some 1861-o but not the same reverse. These are readily identifiable by a die crack that is shared with those 4 coins mentioned and as such represent a historical collectible coin in all sense of the word of one of the only proven and affordable confederate coins that were used under the Federal government, and as such trade at premiums and are much more popular than regular 1861-o 50c.
