Having been housed most likely in a flip where it originally toned, this 1861 3CS with a mintage of 1,000 is considered more or less easily obtainable. However, obtaining one with such bold colors and strong eye appeal with strong cameo contrast is not. The coin has bright wood-brown to salmon toning as it transitions strongly to deep sky blue over red undertones. A joyous coin that will make anyone a satisfied customer. Average comps for non-toned examples sell for $850-$900.
